Johns Living Room
This particular interior design project really only needed a few decorative tweeks. We began this design project by adding decorative trim to the bookcases and windows for a couple of reasons: 1. We wanted to make the bookcases appear taller and more substantial in the space (they were out of scale for the ceiling height in this room). 2. The client wanted a more formal looking space so by adding decorative trim we were able to dress up some rather plain looking architectural details. Painting a room is the easiest and cheepest way to add drama to any interior design project. In this space we used Sherwin Willaims paint color Straw Harvest on the walls, Sherwin Williams paint color Glimmer on the ceiling, and Sherwin Williams color Muslum on the trim. Sometimes, less is more when it comes to interior design and that was the case on this particular design project. The drapery pannels made our windows appear shorter than they really were. So we removed them. Next, we relocated two chairs and shifted a few accessories in this space. We added two new lamps and a ceiling mediallion to complete this design project.
